Peregrine Way

When Kylie & Wendy met with this client, there was an instant connection. They knew exactly what they wanted in functionality for their kitchen and the different zones they needed for everyone to move around their kitchen with perfect fluidity. Their existing space felt dark and heavy and there was a lot going on in the way of pattern and scale that made the space feel off. Going to the drawing board, we knew we wanted to even out the angles of the current kitchen and bring in unique elements that would make this a very personalized space. We created a range/hood area that is the absolute focal point of the kitchen by making the hood an alcove that includes an old world stone application and a reclaimed beam, creating a very organic feel to the space. We included a large island for a great food prep spot and a wall of cabinetry for snacks and other items that makes self-service an easy task for their kiddos. Their existing beverage area blended in with the kitchen and we wanted to make it a more separate space so we brought the wall forward, keeping the existing arch and chose a deep sage green, a concrete sink and a soap stone countertop along with glass cabinetry and open shelves to give them a beautiful, family friendly bar area that is their first view of the day, coming down their stairs. Changing their sink area to be deep, rather than angular with an apron sink and more open shelving, creates yet another working zone that is not only beautiful but beyond functional. We are so happy to have this kitchen be one of so much beauty, creativity and functionality for the family to enjoy for so many years to come.
